This was the third time I started Calculus I<\/em>.\u00a0 The first time was directly after finishing Pre-Calculus<\/em>, but I had to cancel all of my academic plans for the spring 2007 semester because my responsibilities at work increased so much that I no longer had any time for school.\u00a0 I had enrolled in the course a second time during the previous semester (fall 2010), but shortly afterward discovered that I had forgotten how to multiply.\u00a0 Naturally, I felt it would be a good idea to relearn how to do this before I attempted to find the derivative of a function using either the product or quotient rules.\u00a0 Likewise, optimizing the area within a fence of a set length so that farmer Joe’s goats have plenty of grass on which to graze is much easier to do when you can remember basic math.\u00a0 Little things like this help.<\/p>\n Fortunately “third time’s the charm” and the class was a breeze.\u00a0 Math is my subject, if I have one, but I can’t say that I solve math problems for fun in my spare time (although there are some people that do this).<\/p>\n It is important to note that the previous semester’s abandoned attempt at this course would be the last time I would not complete a class I had started.<\/p>\n – Forthcoming<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" MATH3A — Calculus I This was the third time I started Calculus I.\u00a0 The first time was directly after finishing Pre-Calculus, but I had to cancel all of my academic plans for the spring 2007 semester because my responsibilities at … Continue reading Exams<\/h3>\n
